All sales at the Monarch Techstore are final after a reasonable amount of time. Most returns are handled on a case-by-case basis by one of Monarch Techstore managers. If you wish to return an item; please contact us; we will determine if we can take a return. We do our best to help customers make informed decisions. Many products are on display at our Retail Sales Floor, or, in the case of software, are available from the manufacturer in trial format. The final responsibility for suitability and compatibility lies with the customer.
RETURNS/REFUNDS & EXCHANGES
Web purchase returns Policy:
The primary goal of the Monarch Techstore is to provide Old Dominion University students, faculty, staff, and alumni with technology products at the lowest possible price. The store is not a profit-making entity and markup is set at a minimal rate, which allows us to break even. It is our belief that our customers prefer low prices to a generous return policy.
Store personnel will make every effort to help the customers make informed decisions. Many products are on display in the store, or in the case of software, available in trial form from the manufacturer. The final responsibility for suitability and compatibility lies with the customer.
Based on these considerations, the following Monarch Techstore Return Policy has been established:
Store receipt is REQUIRED for ALL returns.
-- Stocked unopened hardware or software: Items purchased from in-store stock may be returned within 10 days of purchase, for a full refund or exchange.
-- Special Order unopened hardware or software: Any unopened special order hardware or software may be returned within 10 days of receipt. A refund will be provided ONLY IF item can be returned to the distributor. If applicable, refund to the customer will be reduced by the amount restocking fees and/or shipping costs.
-- Damaged or Defective hardware Defective or damaged hardware may be returned within 3 days of purchase for a full refund provided damage is not determined to be from customer negligence.
Defective or damaged software will be replaced with the same product and version.
-- Opened hardware: Opened hardware purchased from in-store stock may be returned within 10 days of purchase, providing the hardware is returned in its original packaging, with all manuals, CDs, documentation, etc. and is in good working order. Open-box returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee. The balance due the customer may be refunded or applied to an additional purchase.
-- Opened software: Opened software is not returnable unless the product is defective or damaged. All determinations will be obtained from manufacturer for Return Authorization.
-- Warranty: Warranty terms vary from product to product and are provided by the manufacturer of the item, not by Monarch Techstore. It is the customer’s responsibility to read and understand the manufacturer's warranty terms and conditions before purchasing software or equipment.
